Alan Wilson gets two big endorsements, Lord supporters attack his mama

Alan Wilson’s campaign for Attorney General got two big endorsements on Monday from former Attorney General Charlie Condon and from former candidate Robert Bolchoz.  Both men are political heavy hitters in the South Carolina Low County, with Bolchoz wining big in Charleston last Tuesday.

Both men touted Wilson’s record as a prosecutor as to why they support him.  Lord’s response was reported by Will Folks on his blog, yes that Will Folks of Nikki Haley fame.  The statement droned on about establishment politicians, blah blah blah.  I wonder if Lord feels that way about “establishment politician” Solicitor Jerry Peace who endorsed Lord in the primary.  Will Lord drone on about “establishment politicians” if he gets the endorsement from a certain Low Country solicitor his camp is bragging about having announced in the next couple of days?

Lord supporters are hinting at Nikki Haley endorsing Lord.  Perhaps it will happen.  But, the low tactics of Lord supporters should run Haley off.  She has nothing to gain by getting behind a group that is going after Alan Wilson’s mother and Joe Wilson’s wife.  As a woman attacked unfairly, Haley should know to stay away from the race.

Just take a look at the comments section on a Lord friendly blog such as FITSNEWS ran by the Haley tainted Will Folks and you will see Lord supporters going after Roxanne Wilson.  Even on this blog in the comments section, they attack the woman.

Frankly put, only a pissant attacks a candidate’s mama.  No amount of money or political clout can take that pissant status away from such a person.  Further, in response to the Bolchoz endorsement, some Lord supporters are not only acting like pissants in attacking Wilson’s mama, but they are acting like pissants throwing around Haley’s name like they can make the decision for her.

I mean, come on, Lord supporters, attacking a man’s mama?  Are you people in middle school or something? What are you going to try next?  Maybe give Alan a wet willie when he is not looking?

Daddy Daddy Daddy paid you well.

Lord ain't got any honor. He is a pissant. I knew that when I saw his ad about law enforcement. But, damn, that son of a bitch has money and power.

  3. I voted for Haley. I will vote for her again, as long as she does not endorse Lord. That guy is creepy.

Sir Leighton will be pissed about this.

Haley should stay out of this race... the anonymous youtube attack video was insane... if you want to attack like that then at least make it public...

I think Haley should stay out of the race, but it's important to note that Alan Wilson's mother and Joe Wilson's wife is also Jake Knott's campaign manager...

  7. Anon, no source other than Lord supporters can confirm that Roxanne Wilson runs Knott's campaign. It is a cheap shot mean to tie Wilson to Knotts.

    I call bullshit on you.

    Kiss your legal career goodbye.

  9. AnonymousJune 15, 2010

Anyone who knows Roxanne Wilson and Jake Knotts knows well that they hate each other.

  10. "Kiss your legal career goodbye."

When false accusations, personal insults, and anonymous attack videos don't seem to work, why not try an anonymous threat to silence your critics?

    Stay classy, Leighton Lord!

Classless. The only way to define Lord supporters. This is a legitimate article. Two big endorsements. But after weeks of praising Bolchoz as an honorable opponent, he squelches the honorable opponent as a "hack" when he can't get his endorsement.

I voted for Bolchoz as a legitimate and honorable guy to serve that particular job. His endorsement is huge in my mind. After the response from Lord, I hope he gets everyone of the Bolchoz votes for stupidity of releasing such a statement when you are trying to get his voters to you.

Classless and stupid. He'll not only lose the Bolchoz voters but some of his own.

  12. This business about mamas being off limits might have merit if Roxanne Wilson had not been so closely associated with trash like Jake Knotts for years.

During the last primary, on June 11, 2008 - Clff LeBlanc wrote in The State newspaper "One of his (Knotts) stops was to the Springdale home of Congressman Joe Wilson and his wife, Roxanne. She is one of Knotts’ key advisers and a force in county politics."

Read more for yourself on the SC Senate GOP website.

Also, did you really write that Charlie Condon was a political heavyweight? For eight years he politicized various "crime du jours" in hopes of using the office as a stepping stone to the Governor's mansion only to get trounced.

You can keep the career politicians. I'm supporting Leighton Lord, the intelligent attorney who is taking a pay cut to serve his state.

And finally... this ad really illustrates that "Alan is his own man and is not running on his Daddy's name." Puh-lease!

  13. Frank G.,

    Heelllllooooo - Where are you?

When you called BS I provided proof.

    You want more?

Also from The State newspaper archives - an article entitled "GOP women wield political might" by Clif LeBlanc. A portion of it reads "Sen. Jake Knotts' public persona is of an unapologetic Bubba, a gruff guy who dishes out more guff than he takes. But this Alpha male starts each day with a 5 a.m. phone call to his closest confidant and political adviser -- one of Lexington County?s staunchest and toughest GOP divas -- Roxanne Wilson."

  14. Yes, we are so lucky that Sir Leighton, with his personal wealth is willing to slum it by serving the little people. Maybe he can get a badge after all if he wins.

And not a good ole boy? Please. I ain't that political but I know his law firm is connected with every good ole boy in the state.

And, McCarty is right, no matter what the situation, go after a man's mama is just pissant.
